Dear Jane..Ray and Mike, I'm so sorry to hear of Barney's passing. My heart goes out to all the family. He was a special man and I have many good memories of him and the old house in Flamingo where we had lots of laughs with BARNEY entertaining everyone with his stories while sitting on the driveway having a few beers and spending time at the pool in the summertime..

Such a sudden loss – my most sincere condolences to Barney’s whole family. Of course, I will remember Barney’s preoccupation with safety and adherence to detail which turned a job of a few hours into a few days. But, I will also remember his quick offer of assistance, his ever-present smile, his hearty laugh and his dramatic facial expressions. Above all, he was simply a good man.

My sincere condolences from the Chanyi family. My first memory of Barney was when, after a night out with Mike, I stayed over at Jane and Barney's house. I slept down on the pull-out coach in the basement of the old house in Brampton. Ray had told me stories of "Safety Barney" and it was my first personal encounter. Barney showed me the basement window, and in case of a fire, how to open it, how to get out and where everything was. In fact, every time I stayed there, we reviewed that exit. I can still picture it in my mind. Such a sincere and genuine man, he was so caring and down to earth, one of the easiest fathers to sit down and have a drink with. He will be missed...

So sorry to hear of the loss of Barney. So many great memories of our days on Flamingo Crescent. There were many "Dads" on that street ensuring we all had a fun, memorable childhood. Mr. Mansell was one of them.
I think he all made us believe that there was a special chemical in their pool that would turn the pool a different colour if you peed in the pool. He kept a clean pool. To this day I still wonder if that chemical exists....
