Obituary of James Thomas Knight

KNIGHT: James Thomas "Jim" Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday April 15, 2015. Jim was a very accomplished man having obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He was also the recipient of ‘Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. After retiring to Apsley, Jim became the current President of the Kawartha Wood Turning Guild (KWG). He is loved and missed by his wife Sherry Knight. Dear father to Tom & Connie of Calgary, Clay Lewis & Josefine Nordenborg of Stockholm, Sweden, Whitney Knight of Salt Spring Island, B.C., and Shelby Lewis & Bryton Clemens of Calgary. Grandpa Jim will be fondly remembered by his two adored granddaughters Aurora and Fauna Knight. Jim will also be missed by his sister Terri and husband Paul McGinnis of Toronto, sisters-in-law Leah Hahn of Calgary, Carrie Greer of Red Deer, Alberta, Tammy & Joe Draga of Calgary, Kristy Zub of Buckhorn, brother-in-law Todd & Billie-Jean Denty of Red Deer, Alberta. He will be greatly missed by his parents-in-law Diana & Jeff Zub of Buckhorn. Jim was predeceased by his parents James and Alma Knight. The funeral service will be held on Sunday April 19, 2015 at 4:00 PM at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL (www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or 705-652-3355).
