Obituary of Ruth Garbutt

GARBUTT, Ruth Passed away peacefully with family by her side at the P.R.H.C. on Monday March 30, 2015. Ruth (nee Brand) of Big Cedar in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of 64 years to Elwin Garbutt. Loved and remembered by her children Trudy Ray (Gord) of RR #2, Lakefield, Grant Garbutt (Karen) of Lindsay, Neil Garbutt (Alison) of Selwyn, CarolAnn Bolton (Ron) of Big Cedar and Mark Garbutt (Tina) of Buckhorn and by her son-in-law Wayne Greystock of Warsaw. Grandma will always be held close to the hearts of her grandchildren Angela Waldron (Chad), Monica Deshane (Peter), Heather Ray (Matt Bolton), Tanya Schryer, Kevin Garbutt (Jill), Jason Garbutt (Sara), Sara Garbutt, Amy Bolton (Matt Logan), Peter Bolton (Michelle Burnham), Donovan Brinklow (Melissa), Darren Brinklow (Kayla), Alyssa Garbutt (James Tubman) and Alex Garbutt (Jaclyne Edmondson) and by her 11 great grandchildren. Also remembered by her brother Bob Brand (Phyllis), sister-in-law Ruth Dunford (late Rodger) and by Dave Moore (Mary). Predeceased by her parents Fred and Lily Brand, daughter Patsy Greystock, granddaughter Melissa, siblings Fred Brand (June), Gwen Raper (Buck), Ron Brand (Loretta), Lillian Theobald (Bob) and Edith Moore (Sam) and parents-in-law Harry and Vera Garbutt. A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Saturday April 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM with visitation to commence at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the P.R.H.C. Palliative Care Unit or Cancer Unit.
