Hi, Cheryl
It was a shock to hear of your Dad's recent death. I was a Volunteer Firefighter for 15 years out of Hall 5 and came to know your Mom and Dad quite well. We missed hearing her cheery voice on the radio when the calls were centralized.
I remember your Dad as a quiet leader. Not one to dress you down in public, rather to take you aside after and say "That was quite good, Rob. Now, what do you think might have happened if you had tried it this way?" Of course, his way was always better.
Our daughter's father-in-law passed away this week and his funeral is in Creemore at the same time as your Dad's, so very regretfully I will not be with you, your family and Bill's friends.
I will, however, remember your Dad as a good man and a friend.
We'll send a donation in his name to the Cancer Society.
