December 5, 1920 – December 23, 2014
Alda kept her family and her community close to her heart. She could be seen cheering on her grandchildren and local teams at the hockey rink or baseball diamond any day of the week. Alda was a member of the South Verulam Women’s Institute, the Library Board, and the United Church Women. She was awarded the distinction as first ever “Citizen of the Year” in Bobcaygeon, and honorary lifetime member of the Bobcaygeon Minor Hockey Association.
Alda is survived by nine children: Arthur Kimble (Radell), Diane (Allan) Ingram, Annette Kimble, Michael Kimble (Angie), Frank Kimble, Max (Julianne) Kimble, John Kimble (Michelle), Hughie (Patty) Kimble, and Mark Kimble (Brian) and son-in-law Terry Hughes. She will be greatly missed by her cherished grandchildren: Gregory and Geoffrey Ingram, Michelle and Jonathon Kimble, Jessie, Marshall and Lacey Kimble, April and Brendon Kimble, Sarah Winstance-Smith, Michael and Preston Hughes, Annie and Levi Kimble, Rosie Podlatis, Kassidy Kimble, Natasha Miller, fifteen great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Diane Pennock.
Alda is predeceased by her husband Orville Kimble (1964), daughter Bonnie Hughes and brother Maurice Pennock.
Visitation will be held at Hendren Funeral Homes, Monk Chapel, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, on Monday, December 29, 014 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, 44 William Street, Bobcaygeon, on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to “Bobcaygeon Helps” Food Bank would be appreciated.
