Dear Mary Ann and family:
It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we heard of the passing of our dear friend Ed. He was a joy to talk to and be with at all legion functions. His friends on the Rama bus trips will miss him too but he is in a better place now.

Please know that all Ed's Comrades here at the Legion have you in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Ed was sure a fantastic guy that wont be soon forgoten. Dear MaryAnn, Bradley, Kevin, Leah and family:
We are so saddened to hear of Ed’s passing. Ed was a big part of the Macdonald Clan and he kept our family together over the many years through the family reunions he held, (Thanks Ed & MaryAnn) Family meant so much to Ed, we will always remember his big smile. Fondest memories of Ed will soon take the place of sadness in our hearts, as we remember great times we had with him. Remember death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ed. The last night I talked to Ed you were very sick at home for two week's. Then the night of the storm Ed went to hospital you were at dart's and told me he was having test's. Many people will miss him very much he had a lot of friends. I am sure Ethel and Betty were waiting for him also a lot of our other dart player's. Ed will be missed by every one he knew. I will chat with you soon take care of yourself Maryann.

I was proud to know him, and spend many hours together at our cottages in Halliburton. I feel glad that he is now at rest.

JAMES EDWARD (Ed) MACDONALD
Ed passed away peacefully Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay.
Ed, of Noggie’s Creek, will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Ann; his children, Bradley and Kevin; his grandchildren Megan and Layne; sister, Leah Weston and Brad and Kevin’s mother, Marlene Macdonald.
Ed was a huge influence to many people. Through teaching he touched many lives at Orchard Park in Stouffville, Scanlon Creek Outdoor Education Centre, Vivian Forest and Lake McKenzie in Kirkfield as well as other locations through the years.
Ed enjoyed golf from an early age, was an amazing shooter and member of the Canadian International Muzzle Loading Team where he travelled the world and set records with his marksmanship. He was friends to many in the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association in Friendship, Indiana and really enjoyed his time there. Ed was a very active member with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 239 Bobcaygeon as well as being Zone F sports officer for many years. In recent years Ed fell in love with the game of darts! Whether it was at the Legion, the Oak Shores Community Centre or many other locations, if there was a tournament or a league he was sure to attend.
Ed was a great guy who enjoyed his heritage and his family. He was a teddy bear in a grizzly bear suit!
We would ask that friends pass along the news of Ed’s passing. We could not possibly reach out to all the people he has influenced throughout his lifetime.
Ed requested that there be no funeral or memorial service.
If you would please join Ed’s friends and family in a toast on what would have been Ed’s 70th birthday, February 23, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. EST. No, Ed was not a drinker but he did enjoy a dram of Scotch on occasion, and Kevin fondly remembers celebrating their trip together to Scotland by imbibing our ancestors’ favourite.

To Mary Ann and family .... Its been many years since last we met and I was so sorry to hear of cousin Ed's passing. I had spoken to Aunt Topsy on the phone recently and she had mentioned having phoned and talked to Ed. I knew his health was not the best but didn't realize it was that serious.
