Obituary of Robert E. Druery

DRUERY: Robert "Bob" Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the P.R.H.C. on Monday October 6, 2014. Bob Druery of Lakefield in his 77th year. Bob was a History and English teacher at Adam Scott High School for over 25 years, spending many of those years as the coach of the football team. He was an active member of Lakefield United Church having served in many leadership roles and spent two terms as a councillor on the Township Council. Bob enjoyed the years that he spent on his farm just outside of Lakefield. Loved and missed by his sons Robertson Druery (Janine) of Toronto and Jonathan Druery (Peter) of Ottawa. Grandpa is remembered by Nora and Sheldon. Beloved companion and friend to Glenda Newson. Survived by his sisters Glenda Greydanus (Bill) and Carole West (the late Bob). Predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Carole (2013). Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen St., Lakefield, on Friday October 10, 2014 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment Lakefield Cemetery.
