We were devastated to hear about Charlie's passing and we are so sorry for everyone. Time passes by so fast and we always say we will take the time to visit but life is crazy and then it's too late. We don't have to say what a truly remarkable man Charlie was -because he truly was! May our thoughts and prayers be with you today and always. Dear Judy, and family; Martin was very shocked to learn of Charlie's passing yesterday as we all are. I asked him of his memories of Charlie and one that quickly came out was when George was planning to re frame their house and Charlie just stopped by. Charlie , "just did", the re framing, after all that was the kind of man Charlie was I understand...a "doer"...and a very humble man who would not expect a great praise or thanks. Of course George Jessup being much the same kind of man, was so very greatful and wished to repay Charlie. Charlie just quietly said, " I got some welding I need done George. It'll all be good." and off went Charlie onto his next project. Hand shake, smile, dignified, deal done. As our family began hockey Charlie was that kind guy just there smiling...but one hell of an awesome grin when the game progressed! Some spirits stay close and teach us to just do, and do well. I have it on my desktop at work. Charlie would have been welcomed with open arms from all of my family in Heaven.

Words can't express the shock and sadness we feel with this loss. Mr General Motors to the core...our last conversation was at the lunch place late last week in Selwyn when he noticed a dent in my Chevy tailgate and commented they must have changed the curve of the tailgate for my year of truck as it seemed different than his. I replied it was something GM was trying out with aerodynamics to get better mileage...I can still see the smile on his face.
