Obituary of Hugh Cockburn

COCKBURN: Hugh McLean Passed away peacefully at Extendicare - Lakefield on Monday March 24, 2014. Hugh Cockburn of Stoney Lake in his 88th year. A dedicated family man and patriarch, Hugh will be fondly remembered for his love of each of his family members. He was also a dedicated educator having various teaching roles with the Scarborough Board of Education from 1954-1982 and with the Peterborough Board of Education from 1982-1991. Loving husband of the late Lillian (nee Flint) (1986). Dear father of Beth Boyarski (Jim Morgan) of Bobcaygeon and Don Cockburn (Mary Jane) of Goodwood. Missed by his grandchildren Jason (Debbie), Amy Keller (Scott) and great grandchildren Emily, Cameron and Abbigail. Survived by his sister-in-law Jane Cockburn and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his granddaughter Andrea (1988), brothers Jack (Norma) and Douglas and his sister Jean Smith (Smitty). Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Thursday March 27, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday March 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home. Interment Markdale Cemetery, spring 2014.
