Obituary of Thomas Cole

COLE: Thomas Edward "Tom" Passed away at the P.R.H.C. on Monday March 3, 2014. Tom will be remembered by many as a dedicated lawyer through his practice "Baker & Cole" in Lakefield, having begun practicing law in Peterborough County in 1972. He made a significant contribution to the governance of the legal profession in Ontario, serving as a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada from 1995 to 1999 and he was instrumental in developing a long-term management plan for the sustainability of the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. Tom was an active Mason and was Past Master of Peterborough Lodge #155 A.F. & A.M., as a member of Clementi Lodge #313 A.F. & A.M. and a Shriner. He was also an active member and serving Lieutenant of the 48th Highlanders of Canada, a longtime board member of Hospice Peterborough and a member of the Douro Optimist Club. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Tom's wishes, a private family interment will be held at a later date.
