WILLIAMSON: Denis
On May 4, 2012, Deny passed away peacefully at the age of 88.
Dad was born in Loughborough, Leisc., GB, to Kate and Leonard Willamson. In 1946 he immigrated to Canada and in 1947 Dad married the love of his life, Wilma Evelyn (nee Grant) of Dunnville, Ont.
An officer in the RAF and RCAF, Dad was very proud of his 25+ year career in the military as pilot, flight instructor and later as PADO in 3Wing, Germany. Upon his retirement from the military, Dad worked as the Canadian representative on the World Tourism Council and later as the Park Superintendent of Jasper National Park. He was even spotted riding a horse (an English cowboy) and often hosted foreign dignitaries who visited the park. Returning to Ontario, Dad lectured at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough and then became the sole proprietor of Seagull Enterprises through which he was a management consultant to many large corporations throughout Canada and the US.
Dad was an avid golfer, a collector of stamps, coins and any interesting documents or antiques that caught his fancy. He was very much a people person never missing the opportunity to liven up any group gathering.
A generous and kind man, Dad will be missed by all who knew him.
Dad was pre-deceased by his cherished wife Wilma, his parents and his brother Roy of Loughborough, GB.
Dad is survived by and will be greatly missed especially by his two daughters Pamela Ann Faunt of Courtenay, BC and Penny Dale Williamson of Jasper, AB; his grand children Geoffrey Denis Faunt of Calgary and Saara Melinda Bain (Alistair) of Grande Prairie, AB and by two very precious great grand children Dylan McKenna Bain and Griffin Alexander Stewart Bain also of Grande Prairie, AB.
Cremation has taken place. Dad is to be interred with Mom at a later date at a private family interment at Beechwood Cemetery, military cemetery, in Ottawa. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson""?s Society of Canada.
