Dear Ruth, I am typing this just as the Service for Wellie has started. I'm very sorry I couldn't be there in person this morning but my prayers are with you at this very difficult time. I think of Jim & the many good memories I have often. You & Wellie were always so kind & made us crazy kids welcome in your home. Thank you. I have just noticed that Wellie & I share a birthday! I can only hope that this is a hint that I will live the same long & meaningful life that Wellie has. Take care of yourself. My thoughts are with you. Sincerely, Steve

Although it was around 30 years ago that I graduated from Lakefield High School, I can still clearly see Mr. Garbutt as the school custodian, sweeping up the corridor that lead from Mrs. Lucas's typing class. He was so great with all those high school kids. Always patient and kind, it was good fun to see him jest with some of the extroverted athletic boys. I often marveled at his inner strength to be able to work in that environment, having lost his high school aged son Jim. It was always a joy for me to see Mr. and Mrs. Garbutt together in church on those Sundays when I would visit St. Paul's with my own family. To me they epitomized the commitment and bond of marriage; an amazing couple with such spiritual grace. My deepest condolences and prayers to Mrs. Garbutt. Sincerely, Julie Stark (Caza)

Aunt Ruth -- our love and prayers are with you --- wish we could be with you. We send lots of hugs. We will miss Uncle Wellie lots. Deepest sympathy --- Love Julie & Les Aunt Ruth - I have so many wonderful memories of times spent with Uncle Wellie--most of all I will remember the twinkle in his eyes as he played tricks on Glenn & I -- I remember him taking me to the horse races, the baseball games and some of my most favorite times were when he stopped by and took me for a ride in the truck when he was delivering lumber. And then, there were the Sunday drives and picnics with you and Grandma and Grandpa...............so many wonderful memories. Thank you Uncle Wellie --- . Love you always Julie
