Obituary of William Allen

ALLEN: William C. ""Bill"" Passed away suddenly after a brief and courageous struggle, with family by his side at the P.R.H.C. on Monday November 23, 2009. Bill Allen of Lakehurst in his 84th year. Bill and Cathy founded Woodland Camp Site, Buckhorn Lake 50 years ago and have worked together at the camp since 1960. Loved and missed by his wife of 57 years, Cathy (nee McRae). Dad is remembered by Hugh Allen (Marina) of Newmarket, Judy Mason (Doug) of Pickering, Sandy Haus (Randy) of London and Morgan Allen (Lori) of Lakehurst. Grandpa will be missed by Bryan, Vicki, Paula, Stephanie, Jaclyn, Brem and Wade. Survived by his sister Glenne Aymer of Mississauga, brother Jim Allen (Peggy) of Edmonton and nieces and nephews, Jim, Mary, Patsy, Mike, John, Susan, Bill, Dan and Bill. Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Hilda, sisters Verna Tanney (Doug) and June Adams (John) and brother-in-law Jack Aymer. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Thursday November 26, 2009 from 7-9 PM and on Friday November 27, 2009 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 1:00 PM. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the Funeral Home.
