Obituary of John Brattain

BRATTAIN: John Passed away suddenly as the result of heart complications on Monday March 23, 2009 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. John Brattain of Springbrook, Ontario in his 45th year. John was an active member of the Stirling, Ontario Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He will be remembered by many as a prolific sports writer. His humourous and sometimes controversial style of writing was his trademark. He contributed heavily too many sports websites, blogs, newspapers and radio shows, including The Baseball Think Factory, The Hardball Times, MSN/Sympatico, ESPN 1450 and his blog 'The Groundrule Trouble'. John was passionate about life and lived each day to the fullest, expressing his deep love for family and friends whenever he could. Loved and deeply missed by his wife Kelly and their daughters Belinda and Kataryna. Also missed by his parents Bob & Laura of Cambridge, parents-in-law Twila & Robert Kitching of Verschoyle, sister Terri Cutts (Tom) of Cambridge, brother Rob (Shari) of London, sisters-in-law Lisa Vyse (Steve), Tessy Marleau (Randy), Cindy Rose (Bill), Julie Henhawke (Brian), Andrea Kitching, brothers-in-law Troy (Manuella), Kevin (Aldora), David and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of John's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday April 4, 2009, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4183 Old Highway #2, Belleville, and simultaneously broadcast at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Highway #19 (Plank Line), Tillsonburg. Memorial donations may be made to The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
