Obituary of Roy ASLING

ASLING: Roy W. Passed away peacefully at the P.R.H.C., on Thursday October 30, 2008. Roy Asling of Catchacoma in his 85th year. Roy will be remembered as the former owner of Pearson's Landing and as a local builder for many years. Sadly missed by Doris Howsam and his children Greg (Ili) of Nova Scotia, Christine (Sam Semchison) of Madoc, Sharon Smith (Dave Rome) of Rockcroft, Rick Asling, Kathy (Ken Warren), Allan Asling (Sheila), all of Catchacoma, David Asling (Kimberly) of Vancouver and daughter-in-law Joanne Howsam. Loving grandfather of Rhonda (Murray), Scott (So-Yeon), Steven (Christa), Jennifer (Mike), Molly (Joe), Trevor (Fran), Jonathan, Benjamin, Tyler, Tiffany, Wesley, Kristy-Marie, Kelly (Michael), Kylie, Ryan, Paige (Tad) and several great grandchildren. Also missed by his brother Bob Lawson. Predeceased by his wife Lillian (1999), grandchildren Shawn & Tammy, daughter-in-law Jan Asling, son-in-law John Smith and stepson Glen Howsam. Friends and relatives may call at the HENDREN FUNERAL HOME, Lakefield on Sunday November 2, 2008 from 1-4 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Hendren Chapel on Monday November 3, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Cremation. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (L.A.W.S.), Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinson Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
