Obituary of Joseph SHIELD

SHIELD, Joseph ""Joe"" It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Keith Ivision Shield at the P.R.H.C., on Monday, August 25, 2008. Joe Shield of Peterborough in his 78th year. Loving husband and best friend of 51 years to Shirley (Armstrong). Loved dearly by his children David (Teresa), Mark (Dawn) and Lorna Scriver (Jack). Grandpa will be missed by his grandchildren whom he loved to spoil and praise. Also remembered by his sister-in-law Brenda and her son Jamie. Predeceased by his parents Sarah and James and by his brother Doug. We will miss his many stories and having a ""short one"" together. Joe was past master for Peterborough Masonic Lodge 155 and owned and operated his own excavating business. He loved his property in Cavan and enjoyed making maple syrup and cutting wood with his family. He truly was a country gentleman and will be so missed. Relatives and friends may call at the HENDREN FUNERAL HOME, Lakefield on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 P.M. A funeral service will be held from the Hendren Chapel on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Interment Shield Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
