Hello Cec and family Sorry for my tardiness, however, I wanted to make sure I sent a note off before the summer ended. Cec, I am so sorry to hear about your wife's passing. ALthough I never had the opportunity to meet Nancy, I know from all of your stories that together, you and your wife nurtured a very close and caring family. Now that you have retired you may choose to plan a journey to deliver some of the kits to the communities designated by the Sleeping Children Foundation. I have always admired this organization. Take care. Regards, Pam Buttery

Cecil & Family, I was saddened to read in the paper that Nancy had passed away and I send my sincere sympathy to you. I worked with Nancy at South Monaghan School and remember her as a hard-working teacher and a very positive, caring person. I remember in July of 1995 my husband and I were on a trip and were visiting Upper Canada Village. As we came out of the Schoolhouse, Nancy and your family were just going in. It seemed an appropriate place to meet and we laughed about it afterwards. Our thoughts are with you. Sincerely, Sally and Fred

Spence and family; Spence your Mom was and is always going to be a true angel. Her face beamed with pride only Mother's get when they are with their precious family. Though it is her time to move onto the eternal, it must be so very comforting to know your Mom shared so much of herself with so many in goodness. Her best really does shine through in you and your family Spence. God bless her for fighting the battle cancer can bring. Take care, Love Martin, Brenda, Mark, Kyle and Todd Jessup.

Dear Cec, Matt, Janet, and Spencer; I'm so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. I heard through Sean that Nancy was ill but I didn't realize the severity. Nancy was such a great person, I have fond memories of the family get togethers when the kids were small and I regret I didn't keep in touch. I want you to know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Sincerely, Debbie

Cecil, I just heard about the loss of your wife, Nancy. I realize that it is possible that you may not remember me as I was a student of yours many years ago. Neverless, I wanted to send this note as you were one of those special teachers that touched the lives of many, including mine. I only actually met Nancy a couple of times at functions, and she was certainly a wonderful person. What I remember more however, is how much you fondly talked about your wife and family in the classroom. It was clear that they were the central part of everything in your life and that much of your joy came directly from them. So vivid are these stories in my memory that I even remember the tales of your trips to Gary, IN as you were dating. I no longer live close enough to visit to offer my condolences, and so I can only send them remotely. My heart is with you at this time. God bless you and your family. Scott
